Burner Covers
Keeping your gas fire pit insert protected when not in use is one of the best precautionary measures you can take to ensure your burner assembly and ignition components remain in pristine condition. Burner covers are similar to fire pit covers but are a little more specific in their function and purpose. The metal gas burner and its integral parts should preferably be shielded from the rigors and harsh conditions that weather can sometimes lay at our doorstep.
The burner covers we offer are USA made and built from high quality, rust resistant materials such as stainless steel and aluminum. When your fire feature is not in use, our stainless steel fire pit burner covers sit flush with the top surface of your fire pit, and can be utilized as additional space for playing cards or serving hors d´oeuvres. They are available in round, square, linear, and rectangular shapes, and feature a handle in the center of the cover for easy handling. Our powder coated black aluminum covers are best described as an upside down funnel shape. They are suspended over the flames that are emitted from the burner. This particular type of gas burner cover serves a dual purpose - it keeps the fire protected from rainy conditions and acts as a heat reflector.
Fire features don’t always come with this valuable accessory, but fortunately we make it easy for you to outfit your gas fire pit or table with a burner cover. Enhance your investment's durability and preserve the burning component to ensure consistent operation year after year!
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I cover my fire pit burner?
There is no rule that says you have to keep your fire pit burner covered, but we highly suggest that you consider adding this layer of protection. Gas burners are often manufactured in such a way that water weeps or drains from the port holes where the flames originate from. Their stainless steel or brass construction will hold up against rust or corrosion. But extremely inclement weather and debris falling into the fire pit could potentially damage the burner assembly. Covering the centerpiece of your fire feature with one of our gas burner covers is a smart way to maintain your device for years of enjoyment.
Should I add fire pit rocks to cover the burner?
Lava or fire pit rocks are a great way to enhance the appearance of your fire pit. The rocks are meant to camouflage the burner components, but should not be added in excess, as too many will not allow for a proper flame presentation. Lava rocks should be situated approximately 1 inch above the burner, which is plenty to cover the components and promote airflow. Lava rocks are porous, meaning they have little tiny holes throughout, allowing air to pass through and help with gas dispersion. This makes for an awesome flame display! Remember that lava rocks are more for function and aesthetics - they are not meant to substitute a protective gas fire pit burner cover.
Are fire pit burner covers expensive?
Our stainless steel and aluminum gas burner covers are very affordable! They are USA made and crafted from durable materials that are designed to stand the test of time. Our products are designed and produced by trusted manufacturers in the outdoor industry and are guaranteed to increase the lifespan of your burner element.
